Oil Filters
The automobile oil filter is mostly located under the front of the front engine, which is mainly for easy replacement. Different models have different positions, but the styles are similar. Different models are installed at different locations, and they are generally installed near the engine block. Open the car cover, find the engine, and then there is a cylindrical object on the left and downwards, which is the oil filter.
Oil filter, its function is to remove dust, metal particles, carbon deposits and soot particles in the oil and protect the engine.
The first maintenance mileage is clearly indicated in the car manual, usually 3,000 miles /3 months (whichever comes first), or 6,000 miles/6 months (different brands will be slightly different), mainly to replace the oil and oil filter. In addition, car manufacturers will also check tires, tire pressure, lights, brake discs, etc. If you are driving in harsh conditions, you may need to replace the filter in advance.
The oil filter is usually engine-specific. Therefore, they have many different types in terms of size, pitch, filter media, etc. You need to choose the matching oil filter for different models. You can use the Dooxi filters Search Tool on our website to find the right oil filter.
When performing tasks on your own, you often meet the problem of removing the oil filter without using tools or how to remove the oil filter without using a wrench. Although the tools make the operation process simple and fast, most filters can be unlocked by turning it by hand.
However, in some cases, the filter is tightened, and you need to pull it out with a wrench. It is also recommended to avoid removing the oil filter with a screwdriver. Instead, it is best to remove the oil filter with a belt.
Loose filters can cause oil leakage. Leakage will cause a drop in oil pressure, which is detrimental to the health of the engine and the overall performance of the car.
Over-tightening may also damage the threads. For the best steps on how to tighten your vehicle’s oil filter, you may need to consult its manual. To ensure that the tightening of the oil filter is correct, always use bare hands.
The general rule for replacing the oil filter is to tighten it by hand, then use a quarter-turn of a wrench.
There is a bypass valve in the oil filter, this valve will open when the oil filter is clogged to prevent the engine from not being lubricated by the oil. If we do not change the oil filter for a long time, the filter paper has too many impurities and the oil cannot pass through, the bypass valve will be opened and the oil will be directly supplied to the engine without filtering.
In short, it is equivalent to no oil filter. At this time, the residual carbon, gum, sludge, metal wear debris, etc. in the oil will enter the lubricating surfaces of the engine along with the flow of the oil, thereby intensifying the engine damage.
Oil Filter can send warning signs.
1. Dirty Exhaust
2. Dropping Pressure
3. Audible Metallic Noise
4. Engine Sputtering
5. Performance Suffers
When you aware the these signs, you need a new oil filter.
It should be OK, it will not affect the flow of the filter. I recommend putting on the filter by hand next time, if it is not necessary, do not tighten it with a wrench.
Fuel Filters
The fuel filter is located between the fuel tank and the engine. Usually, the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank (at the opening of the fuel line that supplies gas to your car), or somewhere in the fuel line (usually at the bottom of your car). If you are not sure about the location of the fuel filter, your car documentation will provide accurate answers.
Fuel filter has three types: Diesel filter, Fuel Filter and Gas filter. According to the different installation methods, the Fuel Filter we are talking about is divided into spin-on and cartridge-style.
The fuel filter protects your engine from harmful debris. The fuel filter filters out dust and rust particles in the fuel, preventing them from entering the engine and causing damage. If debris enters the engine-even tiny rust particles-it will cause unnecessary wear on engine components and cause serious damage to the entire system.
Most manufacturers recommend changing the fuel filter between ever 20,000 and 150,000 miles. The average lifespan of a fuel filter is around 30,000 miles to 50,000 miles. That works out to maybe two to five years worth of driving. The older the vehicle, the more frequently the filter should be replaced. This is because after about seven years of driving, rust, dust and debris accumulate faster, clogging the filter.
5 signs that could mean you need a new fuel filter.
1.Car won’t start
2.Hard time starting
3.Herky-jerky engine idling
4.Struggling at low speeds
5.Car dies while on the road
When you aware the these signs, you need a new fuel filter.
It should only take you between 10 and 20 minutes to get your fuel filter out and replace it with a new one.

Air Filters
The air filter in the car prevents harmful dust, debris and other pollutants from entering the engine during the combustion process.
The air filter is usually located in a black plastic box near the top of the engine, behind the front air intake grille. Depending on the manufacturer, it can be located on the left or right side of the engine, or in the center. If you are not sure where the air filter of your vehicle is, be sure to visit the nearest car maintenance center.
Depending on driving conditions, change the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. If you often drive on unpaved roads that are often dusty, you should replace them more frequently. If you are not driving a lot, you should replace the filter at least every 3 years, as it will become brittle with age.
When your air filter becomes dirty, your engine is forced to work harder resulting in decreased fuel economy, higher emissions, and even loss of engine power.
If the filter is severely clogged, the air intake resistance will increase and the engine power will decrease. At the same time, due to the increase in air resistance, the trip computer will also determine the increase in the amount of gasoline that is inhaled, resulting in an excessively rich mixture ratio, which will worsen the engine’s operating state, increase fuel consumption, and easily generate carbon deposits.
If your vehicle’s air filter is a bit dirty, but it is not ready for replacement, it can usually be cleaned. However, if you are not familiar with the appearance of the new filter, we strongly recommend that you contact your local car repair specialist for a correct diagnosis.
